    Rear projection television tips

Up until quite recently rear projection CRT televisions gave the best display available! That is, if you had someone come in and set up the television correctly or you learned how to maintain and adjust the set yourself.

These sets can last a very long time and provide an excellent picture for many years. They should be cleaned and the convergence and display settings should be performed about once per year.

  • Size DOES matter

The television display size should be correctly matched to the dimensions of the viewing area. Purchasing a set that is too small or too large for the space will result in less than desirable viewing satisfaction. Talk to us before you purchase the largest set you can afford, you'll be much happier with the picture quality.

Televisions, Projectors & Displays

Television manufacturers do not pre-set the display for home viewing. Instead, the displays are configured from the factory to overcome the powerful lighting in the store. As a result your new television's picture looks washed out and dull.

Viewing distance plays a large part in your viewing experience. We will calculate and show you the options available to you whether you have already purchased the television or not.

Television/projector display set up services include:

  • Adjustment of color balance, hue, brightness, contrast and sharpness to match the environment your television is in. These adjustments are performed with NTSC standards display patterns.
  • Adjustment of convergence settings on rear projection television sets
  • Testing of your television for proper display of color and geometry (basic tests only)
  • Television/projector connections to all of your equipment
  • DVD players, cable boxes, satellite receivers, DVD recorders, VCRs, home theatre receivers etc. will be connected for the best viewing experience and ease of use.
